Below is our beautiful show pond built especially for you, our customers. Having a recreation pond built is a big task for home owners. Therefore we wanted to show you what you can expect by choosing Poole Technologies. This pond was constructed just outside the city of Regina for you to come see before you "dive in" with your own project.
The show pond was constructed with a budget friendly approach without sacrificing in quality. That way you can see what the minimum styling and finishes can achieve. Of course the sky is the limit with swimming ponds. We will show you the differences that can be achieved when you visit our site. Whether you are building on a budget or want the best of the best, we can provide that for you.
This pond is over 100,000 Liters with over 500,000lbs of stone and aggregate (we stopped counting at half a million lbs.). It is fully swimmable with an 8' deep end and a jumping rock. Pictures really don't do this pond justice so we encourage all customers to come see for themselves!
Pricing
With all landscapes projects, pricing can vary greatly depending on the designs and features. One person can make a backyard beautiful for a certain price while another person may be able to spend 10X that amount on the same backyard. This makes it very challenging for our future customers to budget. Therefore we have a guideline below which will help you get an idea of where you will be financially to achieve your dream pond.
Koi Pond
$10K - $30K
These ponds are often 2-4' in depth and a great size for koi fish. They use a bio-falls filter and skimmer with 1 pump, and are often less than 5000L. They can easily fit in an average size yard - great for enjoying your morning coffee.
Recreation Pond
$50K - $125K
These ponds are great for swimming as they are generally 4-6' deep and have a beautiful waterfall. If you have an average sized backyard the project will likely take up the entire footprint once completed. Most of these ponds require a wetland filter.
Natural Oasis
$125K and Up
A natural oasis is great for large residences or commercial properties. These ponds are generally 6'-10' deep. They require at least 1 wetland filter and can have multiple waterfalls of varying sizes. The sky is the limit with this package. You can expect your space to resemble a resort or wildlife sanctuary once completed.
Pricing Variances
The layout and accessibility of your property can also affect pricing. We have a few examples to further assist you when budgeting for a pond feature.
Accessibility for Heavy Equipment
We require heavy equipment to excavate and place boulders. If there is not a lot of space to get these machines to the site then we may need to use smaller equipment. This can add time and possibly alter the stones we use to construct your pond.
Trucking
Depending on your location, trucking of boulders and aggregate can affect the cost. We can use much larger trucks for rural locations, reducing how many loads are required.
Buried Utilities
You can contact Sask 1st Call to see if there are utilities where you want your pond. If there are, they will likely need to be rerouted. We never advise placing ponds over utilities regardless of depth. If the utility owner needs to excavate these lines, they likely won't be liable to rebuild the pond.
